We honour ten long-standing employees

This year sees ten employees celebrate 25 or 30 years of service with our company. Continue reading

Gisela Reinbott originally intended to stay for just six months, but she ended up being a supportive and active member of our sales team for no fewer than 25 years, before going into well-earned retirement at the start of this year. Alfred Nowak likewise joined Kuhn 25 years ago, as a lathe operator in his case. “Mr Nowak is a highly committed employee. He loves his job, and has been true to Kuhn every day he has worked here.” says Andre Kuhn, the second-generation proprietor of Kuhn Special Steel.

This year also sees four of our foundry employees celebrate 30 years of service for the firm. Fred Ritzmann, Uwe Landau, Herbert Schulz and Harald Schwab have all contributed enormously to the current success of the foundry with their commitment and numerous suggestions for improvement and further development. “Without the know-how of our long-service foundry employees, we would never have been able to achieve our current high standards in terms of quality and productivity”, says foundry manager Fred Ritzmann.

A further three employees from our machining division are likewise celebrating 30 years of service. Silfrit Venohr, Wolfgang Kaiser and Andreas Schori, all three of them faithful employees of Kuhn, are justly proud to have been part of the company’s successful development to date, by making their day-to-day work an important contribution to that success. “We are pleased that our employees are always open to the possibilities of further development. A lathe operator of 30 years ago needed no knowledge of computers. Nowadays, doing the job without CNC machines is virtually beyond the imagination. Bringing the experience of employees up to scratch with respect to computers has in the past required some training, which all the employees concerned have passed with flying colours“, according to Frank Lessing, the long-serving CFO of Kuhn Special Steel.

Arno Forster is another key employee, in this case with 30 years of service as a trained mechanical fitter, whose importance is based- among other things- on the fact that he is familiar with all the machines used by our company. It is thanks to his wide-ranging knowledge, applied on a day-to-day basis, that Kuhn’s machines are able to operate in 24-hour shifts.

Thank you all for your continued hard work and dedication!
