A new design for our website

We bench-test our existing processes again and again to ensure that their continuous further development always delivers the best results. This entails focussing not only on our plant machinery, products and processes, but also on our identity as expressed by our brand and its associated values.

Increasing globalisation and digitalisation in all areas of work are just two of the many factors that have had an impact on our organisation over the last few years, and we have changed accordingly: with growth, access to new technologies and an ever-greater presence on international markets. Given the influence of these developments on our corporate identity, we have just carried out an analysis of our brand values. Weissman & Cie., a consultancy firm specialising in business strategy, has assisted us in this process, by helping us to reappraise, question and further develop our existing values.

This reordering of priorities has given us a clear picture of what we stand for and of what our customers can count on expecting from Kuhn Special Steel, i.e. high performance key components. We stand by our customers from the first step in the development process onwards. Our take on development covers not only the design of our machines, canisters and processes, but also – as and when required – support for our customers in the configuration of their components or their quest to find the optimum material. Our foundry uses this approach as a basis for manufacturing components of the very highest quality. We are able, thanks to our own centrifugal casting process developed in-house, to achieve outstanding material quality in a reliable and efficient way. Our wide range of plant machinery also offers an equally large selection of finishing processes tailored to individual requirements. The ready-to-fit key components made of stainless steel that result from all this are currently in use, under extremely tough day-to-day conditions, in no fewer than forty industrial sectors.

Three values are of particular importance to us when it comes to fulfilling this promise of performance:

• Connected: We create close links with our customers and endeavour to keep communication channels short in our efforts to optimise results based on a cooperative approach to development. We do so by maintaining partnership-based relationships that cross continents.
• Committed: We are all willing to go the extra mile in the interest of our customers’ success. We can also apply creative lateral thinking in our search for the ideal solution, albeit always with an eye on the goal and an ability to keep events in order.
• Technical know-how: Our comprehensive practical expertise lets us know how to do things, and also why they need to be done, allowing us to combine a wide range of competencies to create reliable solutions. This knowledge, along with more than five decades’ experience in forty different sectors of industry, has turned us into the go-to specialists for material technology, centrifugal casting and final machining. Our approach to apprenticeships and in-house training is designed to ensure that this remains so, as we look forward to whatever tomorrow might bring.

These values form part of our day-to-day work throughout the organisation. In order to achieve this, every employee takes part in various discussion workshops designed to bring our brand values to life in the course of their daily routines. This process, which we have started to implement this year, is set to be a continuous part of what we do.
