One from the heart

Kuhn Special Steel is a company with local roots, and we have for many years been supporting local organisations and initiatives with various fund-raising events and donations, with a special focus on the well-being of young people. Continue reading

With Christmas coming up, we have this year asked our employees to nominate a worthy cause based in our home town of Radevormwald or its surrounding area as a recipient of our donation. Given the varied list of proposals submitted, we have decided to split the donation amount of €10,000.

For young firefighters

The Children’s and Young People’s Fire Brigade of Radevormwald received most votes, so we will be donating €5,000 to the potential rescue workers concerned. The money will be spent on such things as protective clothing, training in the handling of equipment and the holding of professional fire brigade open days designed to allow the next generation to practice their firefighting skills in a safe and playful setting. The boys and girls concerned are not allowed to put out real fires until they are at least 18 years old, but they can join the organisation from the age of six.

For the final stages of life

The work of the Radevormwald Hospice is no less important. It has been providing, since 1999, an outpatient hospice and palliative consultation service for elderly and seriously ill people in the final stages of life. The hospice, which is financed by membership contributions, donations and grants, will likewise be receiving €5,000.

We hope that these donations will make a small contribution to the valuable work of the organisations receiving them.
