Achilles JQS Certification for Kuhn Special Steel

These are of course primarily due to a combination of extremely high safety standards and extensive documentation requirements; coupled with the fact that breakdown-related downtime in this sector is liable to be very expensive indeed. The components used are exposed to extremely challenging environmental factors, such as fluctuating temperatures, high pressures and corrosive ambient conditions. Those supplying this sector must therefore fulfil particularly stringent qualification procedures, guidelines and directives, which in turn create high barriers to entry.

We at Kuhn Special Steel have repeatedly demonstrated that our unique products and skills are likewise ideal for fulfilling the requirements of the offshore sector.

It has now been a year since we first reported success in our certification to NORSOK standards. More-recent events have included our company’s Achilles JQS Certification. Achilles JQS (Achilles Joint Qualification System), a multinational organisation operating within the Danish and Norwegian offshore sector, was originally set up more than 20 years ago. It identifies, verifies, qualifies and continuously monitors suppliers in its efforts to optimise the sector’s purchasing procedures. Achilles accesses information on products, balance sheets, key figures, processes, environmental management and quality assurance systems, along with other factors; and keeps the corresponding data on file. Highly renowned business organisations such as Statoil, ExxonMobil, E.ON, BP or Schlumberger, among others, turn to Achilles JQS in order to limit their supply-chain risk.

Our inclusion in the Achilles database as of March 2015, along with a large series of other widely recognised certifications, provides written proof that our organisational and production standards are top-rated, and that they fulfil all the usual main requirements of this industrial sector.
