Also offering future prospects: working at Kuhn Special Steel. Continue reading

As we track the digital developments of Industry 4.0 with a certain amount of excitement, while also making our own active contribution in certain respects, there is one thing that we are sure of here at Kuhn Special Steel: if we want to create high-quality products with lasting value, top-performing employees are an irreplaceable part of our future. It is for this reason that the engaging of properly qualified employees is today, more than ever, one of our main concerns. We are therefore fully focused on growth and the creation of new jobs.

There are currently 19 vacancies at Kuhn Special Steel, involving jobs as

  • Metal machinists
  • Foundry casters
  • Electricians
  • Fitters

all offering attractive working conditions and long-term prospects. The offer also applies to lateral career-changers who might be seeking a new professional challenge in a highly interesting sector.

Thanks to our specialisation in the creation of individual components and our use of short production-runs, each task offers a diverse set of challenges for the employees involved. This requires collaborative and lateral thinking, as proper success is often based on jointly conceived solutions, and it is for this reason that we provide our colleagues with comprehensive training and continuing education opportunities designed to help them achieve their full potential.

Training with added value – 19 new training places as of summer 2018
Our everyday social responsibilities include our commitment to give young people a good start in professional life. We do so by offering the young people concerned a special learning concept via our own training centre and various incentive programmes.

This naturally also involves the recruitment of a new generation of people on behalf of Kuhn Special Steel in order to deal with shortages of skilled workers in a targeted way, as evidenced by the high proportion of apprenticeships that turn into full-time positions. It is likewise for this reason that we are pleased to announce an increase in the training opportunities being offered for the coming year, with the number of metal-machinist apprenticeships increased from seven to ten, and six, instead of four, training vacancies in our foundry.

Exchange of experience continues to attract trainees
Yet more benefits arise from close collaboration with our sister company M. Jürgensen, based in Sörup in the north German state of Schleswig-Holstein, which allows us to offer an even greater range of training opportunities. It will shortly be possible to participate in an exchange programme whereby apprenticeships take place partly in one location or the other. This will offer a welcome degree of diversity, while also extending the skills and knowledge of those involved.
